Smooth 6.75 vs. Freemotion 750 Interactive

The treadmills we’re going to compare today are the prestigious Smooth 6.75 and the Freemotion 750 Interactive. Boy oh boy, this is gonna be good.

As everybody knows, Freemotion is built by Icon. Their specialty lies in their club-quality high-end treadmills, but they have a few home models, of which the 750 Interactive is probably the most popular. Smooth manufactures their own treadmills and only sells them online, kind of like Yowza. This allows them more flexibility to make them how they want, and allows them to sell them for a bit cheaper since they don’t have to pay dealers. Smooth is known for their excellent warranties, and their treadmills’ outstanding durability.

The Freemotion 750 Interactive is the best deal that Freemotion offers out of all their machines in my expert opinion. It has a 3.25 CHP motor which operates powerfully but quietly. The design of the drive system works great. The belt is quiet and smooth and doesn’t bog down or have any problems. It is a full length 20″ x 60″ belt, and utilizes Surface Response Suspension for cushioning, which provides decent padding. If the treadmill felt as solid as the smooth, it would be a done deal, but it’s designed in a way that doesn’t quite feel as solid and stable as it could. Overall solidness is a big deal because it indicates durability, which is one of the most important aspects we look for. The Smooth 6.75 has excellent solidness. The feel of the treadmill overall is very smooth and quiet and comfortable. The motor is only 3.0 CHP, but the weight capacity is the same as the Freemotion’s at 350 lbs, and the treadbelt is a full sized 20″ x 60″ running area.

One of the cool features of the Freemotion is its 3% decline in addition to its 15% incline. I’m not sure how many people actually use it, but it’s kind of nice to when trying to simulate real trails. The Freemotion also has Ifit compatibility which is a big plus. the 8″ backlit display on the Freemotion is very similar to the Smooth’s display. Both have a music port and speakers, both are folding, both have heart rate sensors, and both have a fan. The freemotion has more built in workout programs. The warranties are actually the same. The Smooth 6.75 has an unusually low warranty compared to their others, and the Freemotion 750 has an unusually long warranty compared to other freemotions. So basically these treadmills are neck and neck.

These treadmills are practically neck and neck when you list out all of their stuff. The Freemotion seems to have a slight edge with its larger motor, and Ifit Live. If I had to pick a treadmill out of these two to bring home, it would be the Freemotion 750 Interactive because of those things..Congratulations Freemotion, you win.
