Nordictrack Elite 9700 Pro vs. Nordictrack C1250

Okay okay, I know what you’re thinking..Why in the world am I comparing two treadmills of the same brand? Well, for one that’s just how it worked out in the tournament line-up, and for two, Why not? This will be just as helpful for someone deciding between these two treadmills, as with someone deciding between two treadmills of different brands. So, you may see more of this in the future, since I think it might actually be helpful to a lot of people out there. The treadmills lined up for today are the Nordictrack Elite 9700 Pro and the Nordictrack C1250.

Well, other than the fact that these treadmills are super-duper similar, this should be an enlightening comparison. We’ll start with the basic specs. The motors sound like a good place to start. Now, the Nordictrack Elite 9700 Pro is a few hundred dollars more than the C1250, so remember to take that into account when you’re weighing them out. The Elite 9700 is built in with a 4.0 CHP motor, which is quite a bit bigger and stronger than the C1250’s 3.5 CHP motor. That is the difference between standard and high-end, and the Elite 9700 crossed that bridge effortlessly. The noise factor is great as well. The Elite and the C1250 sound about the same, and both are impressively quiet for their size.

The weight capacity on the C1250 is a standard 350 lbs, while yet again, the Elite 9700 Pro goes the extra mile and has enough strength for 375 lbs. This strength is important to keeping the deck and frame strong and intact, and keeping the treadmill from sloshing around while you run. Both treadmills are very sturdy and grounded. There is no cheap rickety feeling in either of them. The cushioning system on both are practically the same, other than the fact that the Elite 9700 Pro can be adjusted at 9 different levels while the C1250 is just one static setting. Again, the Elite takes the standard, and goes the extra mile.

We could go on forever with this. The treadbelt on the C1250 is the standard full sized 20″ x 60″ while the treadbelt on the Elite 9700 is 22″ x 60″ for a little extra running room. The C1250 actually goes the extra and comes with a Bronze Delivery which gets it inside your front door for free. This is nice when considering how heavy these things are. The Elite 9700 on the other hand takes that up 3 notches and slaps down a free platinum delivery which is worth $250 bucks. This gets the treadmill into the room of your choice, assembled, and they make sure it’s working before they clean up all the materials and leave. This is a great extra.

Both treadmills are top notch when it comes to features. They both have a full color 10″ touch screen web browser with Ifit Live built in and connected to Google maps to let you use all the functionality of that awesome combination. If you don’t know much about Ifit, I highly suggest it, and suggest you check it out online. For a treadmill it’s the best progress tracker, and trail creator out there by far. Well, i think it goes without saying the the Nordictrack Elite 9700 Pro beats the Nordictrack C1250. Since both are made and designed very similarly, the only thing to really weigh out are the specs, and the Elite 9700 Pro has better specs in pretty much every area. Although it’s worth a couple hundred dollars more, value-wise it’s definitely worth the jump. The Elite 9700 pro wins!
